SPECIAL UPDATE: New group teacher training begins this September. Meetings will occur the 4th weekend of every month from 8am -6pm for one year. This program will be lead by Mas Vidal and include support staff and special visits from David Frawley, Dr. Subhash Ranade, Dr. Phadke and Johanna Bennett. Registrations have begun. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION Namaskar and welcome to the ultimate program that unites the scientific traditions of Yoga and Ayurveda. This course is a continuation of the 200 hour program offered at Dancing Shiva. A background in Yoga is required with completion of a minimum of 200 hours of study through another center or an individual teacher (gurukul) or lineage. On the Ayurvedic side only an understanding of the fundamental principles are necessary to apply to this program. The advanced program brings students of Yoga & Ayurveda a compressive understanding of how both sciences work together. It essentially emphasizes an ayurvedic or therapeutic approach to Raja Yoga, also known as “Yoga Therapy”. The science of Tri-dosha is applied to the various limbs of Patanjali’s classical Yoga Sutras. The course manual is provided by the American Institute For Vedic Studies and written by Dr. David Frawley (Vamadeva Shastri) who authored the inaugural book “Yoga & Ayurveda” reuniting the two great sister sciences. The course also introduces broader aspects of both sciences to allow the student to explore the deeper dimensions of their own spiritual quest. It strongly emphasizes a practical approach to learning and encourages deep study done independently as part of an expanding sadhana. The course also becomes an enriching experience for those interested in general lifestyle enhancement. TABLE OF CONTENTS
